Coverage

Wood Chaser provides a 3-month limited warranty from the date of delivery on all custom hardwood furniture and fabrication work. This warranty covers manufacturing defects, including improper assembly and structural defects that arise under normal use conditions.

What's Included

  • Structural defects resulting from workmanship or materials
  • Improper assembly or joinery failures under normal use
  • Finish defects present at the time of delivery

What's Not Covered

This warranty does not cover damage resulting from:

  • Misuse, neglect, or improper maintenance
  • Exposure to extreme temperature fluctuations or humidity
  • Prolonged direct sunlight or UV fluorescent lighting
  • Placement near heating or cooling vents without diffusers
  • Normal wear, scratches, or patina that develop over time

Wood is a natural material. It breathes, moves, and responds to its environment — and that's part of what makes each piece unique.

Movement & Humidity

Wood naturally expands and contracts as humidity levels change throughout the seasons. Minor checking (small surface cracks) or slight gaps at joints can occur and are considered normal characteristics of solid hardwood — not defects. To minimize movement:

  • Maintain indoor humidity between 35–45%
  • Use a humidifier in dry winter months
  • Avoid placing furniture directly over heat registers or near fireplaces

Finish

Your piece has been finished with a conversion varnish or pre-catalyzed lacquer — a professional-grade, durable topcoat. No waxing or oiling is required. The finish is designed to protect the wood while allowing its natural character to show through.

Everyday Care

  • Wipe clean with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth — always with the grain
  • Avoid harsh chemical cleaners, abrasive pads, or silicone-based products
  • Use coasters and trivets under hot or wet items
  • Keep out of prolonged direct sunlight to prevent color change

Making a Warranty Claim

If you believe your piece has a covered defect, contact us within the warranty period with:

  • A detailed written description of the issue
  • Clear photographs showing the defect
  • Your original order information

Once reviewed, we'll work with you on the best resolution — which may include repair, partial replacement, or a refund depending on the nature of the issue.

Post-Warranty Repairs

We stand behind our work long after the warranty period ends. Repairs, refinishing, and restoration services are available for a reasonable fee. If your piece needs attention — whether it's a scratch, a finish touchup, or a structural repair — reach out and we'll assess the work.
